Make Me Feel Beautiful, Honey is a self-portrait series examining notions of nostalgia, isolation and gender stereotypes within the framework of the domestic family photo album. This exploration investigates the female role within the family structure, and observes the significance of the curated domestic narrative.

Particular attention is focused on the parallels between the mid-20th century domestic photo, and the present day proliferation of social media, including the impact that a curated narrative has on our ideological viewpoints.

This focus draws attention to the mental, emotional and often physical isolation and exhaustion that comes from upholding such ideals and quietly exposes the cracks in the desperately polished veneer of self-representation within the family frame.
